The capital of Sikkim is a unique hill resort of north east India and undoubtedly one of the most oft-visited ones. Perched on the ridge of a hill at an altitude of 1700 m, Gangtok is famous for its scenic beauty and spectacular views of the Kanchenjunga, the 3rd highest mountain peak in the world at an elevation of 28169 ft (8586 m). The town offers a mild temperate climate with a temperature of around 23 degree centigrade in summer and around 6 degree centigrade in winter.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Bagdogra / New Jalpaiguri – Gangtok

Welcome on arrival at Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri railway station and transfer to Gangtok (114 km / 4.5 hrs). At an altitude of 5500 ft, Gangtok the capital of the State of Sikkim is a beautiful and clean town promising the best monasteries and landscapes. Evening is for individual activity and leisure, overnight at the hotel.

Day 02: Gangtok Sightseeing

Around early morning, start the full day sightseeing in and around this capital city of Sikkim, covering Tashi View Point, Ganesh Tak, Hunuman Tak, Chortan, Stupa, Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sunday), Institute of Handicrafts and Handlooms (closed on Sunday) and Roomtek Monastery & Dharma Chakra Centre (24 km / 45 minutes), the sect of the Kagyu order – one of the 4 major Tibetan Buddhist Sect (24 km /45 minutes).

Day 03: Excursion Trip To Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir

In the morning start for a half day trip to Tsomgo lake (12400 ft), which is only 32 km from Gangtok City. The lake is almost 1 km long, oval in shape and 15 m deep. The lake is considered sacred by the local people; further 12 km visit the Baba Harvajan Singh Mandir. Evening is free at Gangtok for shopping and individual activity.

Day 04: Depart Gangtok – Bagdogra / New Jalpaiguri

Morning transfer to Bagdogra airport / New Jalpaiguri railway station (114 km / 4.5 hrs). Tour ends.

• TAC will be 10% on couple rate.

• Check-in time is 13:00 hrs. / Check-out time is 11:00 hrs.
• If arrival of guest is by train at NJP Railway Station, please be informed that our executive will be there to receive the guest at the old exit gate (near enquiry counter) or on arrival at Bagdogra Airport our executive will be there with the PLA – CARD at Exit Gate on the Airport.
• The tourism infrastructure in Sikkim & Darjeeling is not very developed and one should not expect or compare it with the standards of plains & other developed destinations, there is always scarcity of water and power in the region and so you would come across situation like water (hot) being supplied on time – basis morning & evening.
• In north Sikkim & Dooars, hotels are available with basic amenities.
• The guest should always keep their cool with the drivers as they are not tourism educated and come from different remote villages.
• As there is shortage of space for car parking in the entire Sikkim & Darjeeling region – guest will have to wait at the Lobby on time for the vehicle to start their sightseeing / transfers.
• We would appreciate, if the guest does not lend their ears to the drivers as most of the time they misguide the passengers. In such instances we would request them to contact our executive.
• On arrival of guests we will provide them with local contact numbers of our executive, who will handle the entire operation.
• As most of the services are on point to point basis, it is obvious that the drivers would also keep changing. Keeping this in mind please ensure that you do not leave your belongings in the vehicle as there is very little possibility of getting them back.
• In this sector, the same vehicles will not be provided for the whole tour, it will be changed sector-wise. So we request you to inform the same to your guest.
• Always check your baggage before you leave the vehicle.
• If any tourist spot which falls on closing day is not completed & if they want to do the same on next day then they have to pay the extra cost for the vehicle.
• If guests want any changes in their sightseeing schedule they should be informed to our executive the previous day of the scheduled program before 06:00 pm, after that no changes are allowed. If the guest informs after 05:00 pm, it will be considered as a cancellation with no refund or guest will have to pay an extra cost for the re-scheduled sightseeing.
• Please inform your guest to maintain the timing for the sightseeing / transfers which will be informed by our executive. Mainly in Gangtok, vehicle will not be allowed to be parked at the hotel but at the parking stand. Once our vehicle leaves the hotel area without picking up the guests & come back at parking stand then guest must have to arrange their own to reach the parking stand.
• Room heater available with an extra cost have to be bourne by the guest directly (Except at Premium & Luxury Packages).
• Due to shortage of power, the guest sometimes may have to bear it with candle light.

• Guide or entrance fees.
• Any cost arising due to natural calamities like landslides, roadblocks, etc. (to be borne by the clients directly on the spot).
• Any increase in taxes or fuel leading to an increase in surface transportation & land arrangements, which may come into effect prior to departure.
